What's the deal with getting bounced off the site when composing a post? I was just writing a response and took (apparently) a bit too long to gather my thoughts in a coherent way (hard enough for me in any case) and when I click on the Post button I was re-directed to the log-in and my post was nowhere to be found. Dam**d irritating.
No one is a TOTAL failure; they can always be used as a bad example.

Probably your session times out. The default for .cfm is 20 minutes. Highlight your post and choose copy if you've been editing a while. If you get booted to the login screen then you can navigate back to your post and click paste. Alternatively, a site administrator may be able to adjust the timeout... but it will always be too short for someone. I think the max timeout is 24 hours or so.

Yes - time out is something like 20 minutes. COG sys admin has no control of this. When you log on, be sure to check the ""keep me logged in" box (or whatever is says. This will force the system not to log you off.

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.

Ranger, I think the bounce feature is called technology ;-) I have had the same trouble numerous times, I have learned to open up MS Word, write my text, do the spell check thing because my English can really get scrambled because of a health issue with my hands. Then paste it in the box and hit send, if it bounces I have a copy.

This comes up all the time. Several ways to avoid it but if it catches you again all I do is log in again and then hit BACK on the browser till you are back at the page with your post and it will send then.

A suggestion that Norm Walton gave me a while back. Clear all the cookies out of the computer before you redo it. It seems to help. But I have been bounced afterwards too. You just never know with all this new technology.
