  • Starting at the Canadian Tire Store parking lot in Bracebridge Ont.

  1.  Turn right out of the CTC parking lot. ( you don’t have a choice)
  2. Proceed straight thru the traffic light and up to the top of the hill.
  3. At the top of the hill turn RIGHT onto the Bracebridge main street # 17.
  4. Turn LEFT onto #42 Taylor Road.
  5. Turn LEFT onto CEDAR Lane. This will proceed over HWY 11 turning into HWY 117.
  6. Following HWY 117 to BAYSVILLE turn LEFT onto Route #2. There is a point of interest on #2 the BRUNEL LOCKS.
  7. When you get to HUNTSVILLE #2 meets with #3 making a “T” junction turning LEFT and proceeding thru HUNTSVILLE and over HWY #11 stay on #3 ASPDIN ROAD until you reach ROSSEAU.  HWY #3 ends at a “T” junction in ROSSEAU. There is an excellent new facility in ROSSEAU for LUNCH.
  8. A LEFT turn onto #141 which turns into #35 for a short distance and then into #4 will eventually proceed back to BRACEBRIDGE.
  9. If you decide to follow #4 just past the SHELL STATION you can follow WINDAMERE ROAD which will connect to #25 BRACKENRIG ROAD which will connect to HWY #118 and back to Bracebridge.
  10. A RIGHT turn in ROSSEAU will take you over to HAYES CORNERS where you will make a LEFT turn staying on HWY #141.
  11. IMMEDIATELY look out for another LEFT turn onto LAKE JOSEPH ROAD which takes you to HWY #169 at FOOTS BAY
  12.  HWY # 169 will take you back to GRAVENHURST.
  13. Also at ROSSEAU a short RIGHT then a LEFT will find you on HWY #632 which turns into #7 taking you though MINETT and PORT STANDFIELD and onto HWY #118.
  14.  A RIGHT turn at HWY #118 takes you back BRACEBRIDGE thru PORT CARKING.
  15.  A LEFT turn at HWY #118 takes you to HWY #169 and GRAVENHURST thru BALA
  16.  NOTE: A RIGHT in BALA onto #38 will take you to WAHTA and GAS and FOOD and SMOKES.
  17.  If proceeding thru BALA on HWY #169 the next small town is TORRANCE and a RIGHT onto #13 which is apparently number correctly is #13 SOUTHWOOD ROAD This road is Muskoka’s version of THE DRAGON ending at SEVERN BRIDGE and WASHAGO.

NOTES:

There will be a minor delay at the BRUNEL LOCKS due to seasonal repairs to the bridge and the bridge surface during the spring and summer months.

SOUTHWOOD ROAD is always a bit questionable due to damage to the road and as a result, care should be taken when riding on it.
The top section has been resurfaced last year and so has the bottom section.
The middle section has lots of patching and some loose gravel.

Rosseau
